Being Regional Service Center (RSC) of Alternative Energy Promotion Center/National Rural and Renewable Energy Program (AEPC/NRREP), Khumaltar, Lalitpur, Nepal, Namsaling Community Development Center (NCDC) is implementing the Productive Energy Use (PEU) program. The program is implementing with funding support from AEPC/NRREP. Main objective of the program is to enhance sustainability of Renewable Energy Technologies (RETs) which are already installed at rural and remote area by using RETs power in productive use. Indirectly the program aims promotion of rural livelihood and employment generation. The program focuses on promotion and establishment of Micro, Small and Medium size enterprises (MSMEs) and Income Generation Activities (IGA) using day time energy/power produced by RETs at project catchment area. Currently the program is entering on completed and operational Micro-hydro projects area.

NCDC has been supported to establish 64 MSMEs and 150 Households on IG Activities in fiscal year 2070/071. Rural Furniture, Milk Dairy, Nepali Hand Made Papers Production, Allo Processing, Agro-processing Mills, Computer Training Center, Sewing and Cutting Center and Poultry farming are main demand sectors for MSMEs establishment. Now RSC/NCDC has covered 7 districts (Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Terhathum, Dhankuta, Bhojpur and Sangkhuwashabha) in program area and 10 full time and 1 part time staffs working in the program.
